Rev. Dr. Phil Christopher
Interim Minister
Dr. Phil Christopher comes to Northwest with over 45 years of experience in various ministry settings. He retired from First Baptist Church, Abilene, Texas in 2021 after twenty-six years as Senior Pastor. During his years in ministry, he served on staff in Second Baptist, Lubbock, and Broadway Baptist, Ft. Worth. He went on to pastor right here in Ardmore, Oklahoma, Northwest Baptist (some of the family’s very best years), Highland Baptist in Louisville, Kentucky, and First Baptist, Abilene, Texas. He is presently serving as a part-time consultant and interim pastor with the Center for Healthy Churches.
Phil is married to Dr. Mary Christopher who serves as a consultant to educational institutions and owns CGL Consulting, LLC. Previously Mary served as Assistant Dean of the School of Education at Hardin Simmons University and director of the Gifted Education Program and Doctorate of Leadership Program. He and Mary have two married children, Jeremy, a CPA in Nashville, Tennessee and Natalie, a middle school principal in Victoria, Texas. Their chief joy in life is being grandparents to Mary Catherine and Emma Anne. His other loves are golf and the fellowship it provides and the Baylor Bears.
Linda Sherry
Linda Sherry joined the staff of Northwest in August, 2022. Linda is a native of Oklahoma, graduating from Phillips University with degrees in music and religion. She holds an MDiv from Phillips Theological Seminary in Tulsa and did further study at Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis. She is a retired Presbyterian (PCUSA) minister and served churches in Oklahoma, Texas, and California.
She is the proud mother of 4, and grandmother of 7. Linda also enjoys staying busy in retirement with work and gardening.
